Why a Few Simple Videos Are Helping Adults Say “Yes” to Love Land

Not everyone feels ready to lead a conversation about sex, puberty, or consent – and honestly, that’s understandable.
Many teachers and youth workers want to guide their students with confidence, but they’re also human.
They didn’t sign up to be sexual health experts, and they don’t always know how to start. The fear of “getting it wrong” is real and for some, it’s enough to put the brakes on entirely.
That’s why we created the Love Land tutorial videos
Not just to explain the rules of the game, but to offer something much more important: reassurance.
When you press play on these videos, you don’t get a lecture.
You get a warm voice, a playful tone, and a calm presence saying:
“You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to show up. Here’s how.”
Each short video walks you through how Love Land works, what your role as game leader looks like, and how to navigate sensitive moments, especially on islands like Capriolia (puberty), Break Free Bay (gender-based violence), or You-Be-You (identity and mental health).
They also open the lid on the Love Land Trainer Toolkit.
The videos show you how each item can be used in different ways across the islands.
This variety of uses means the toolkit isn’t just “extra material” — it’s a living resource that adapts to the topic, the group, and the facilitator’s style.
We didn’t want these videos to sit in a vacuum, so instead of waiting for a perfect pilot workshop, we sent them directly to a group of educators and facilitators through WhatsApp, alongside a short survey.

Why WhatsApp?
Because it’s fast, personal, and the way people already communicate.
And the responses were exactly what we hoped for:
“Now I actually understand how to guide the group.”
“I feel more relaxed just knowing I’m not alone.”
“I love that the videos are short and real. No fluff.”
The videos are helping people say yes to Love Land.
Yes to tricky conversations.
Yes to stepping in even when it feels unfamiliar.
If you’re reading this and wondering, “Could I do this too?”
Here’s the answer: yes, you could!
