A Fresher, Smarter, More Engaging Love Land Board Game

Every time Love Land is played — in a classroom, a youth centre, or a workshop — we learn something new.

We see what makes people laugh, what sparks discussion, and where things sometimes slow down. And then we go back to the drawing board to make it even better.

That’s exactly what happened with our latest update to the Love Land board game.

After listening to facilitators and watching the game in action, we rolled out a set of improvements designed to make the game smoother, more inclusive, and easier to guide — without losing the fun.

Questions that work for everyone

All the question cards have been rewritten in clear, simple language, so players of different ages and abilities can understand them right away. We also added something facilitators have been asking for: a short conclusion sentence at the end of each card. That means no scrambling for the “right answer”; the key point is right there, making it easier for game leaders to explain and wrap up each round with confidence.

No more sitting out

In the old version, only the “team in lead” answered a question while the others waited — and sometimes got distracted. Now, every team plays every round. The question still comes from the leading team, but all teams write down their A/B answer on a whiteboard and hold it up together. Suddenly, everyone’s in the game, every time.

Clearer navigation

We’ve also redesigned the game board itself. Each island still has its playful name (Capriolia, Break Free Bay, You-Be-You), but now it also shows its topic in writing. This little tweak makes a big difference — helping players and facilitators know exactly where they are, and what kind of conversation to expect.

More ways to play

These changes might sound simple, but together they’ve transformed how Love Land feels to play. It’s faster, more engaging, and gives facilitators the tools they need to lead confidently.
